Tazzle IT - Connects Blackberry to any PC-connected printer using wireless connection

Hi everyone. I recently received a copy of Tazzle for Blackberry from the kind people at Tazzle IT so I thought I'd I check it out and give a review. If you're looking for an alternative solution for viewing, transferring, and printing mail + attachments as well as documents, photos, etc from your Blackberry internal memory or SD card "to PC" stay tuned as I report back later after a week of Tazzle...ing with hands-on review.
After a week of Tazzle…ing I’m ready to offer my hands-on review using this exciting new product. First off have you ever found yourself on a business trip and realize omg……. you forgot that presentation or that document back at the office and there is no time to print it. Or you have it on your Blackberry and if only you could get onto your laptop. For me it’s always… I’m at home and I need to work on some technical specifications that’s back at the office so I have one of the guys email it to me on my Blackberry then I forward it to my personal email on my home desktop. Well I think the people at Tazzle IT came up with a clever way that might help some of us. Tazzle provides an easy wireless connection which can be used to transfers documents from your Blackberry to your Desktop or even Laptop using Bluetooth technology. In addition to sending documents to your desktop, Tazzle lets you send the document directly to a printer that’s attached to that desktop with ease. The speed at which documents are transferred greatly depends on the size of the document it self. Messages without attachments usually complete the transfer in less than 10 seconds. This will vary depending on the speed of your desktop computer. Document types include and not limited to: Documents To Go docs, Images, Text files, Email messages, etc. To be able to use Tazzle you would first need a Tazzle client that runs on you’re your Blackberry device. You install it using Tazzle IT OTA (Over-the-Air) installation. Secondly you need the Tazzle server application that runs on your desktop or laptop. To install the server you simple download the file then run the setup application following a few simple steps. And third before you can start sending documents you need to make the wireless connection by simply connecting the Tazzle Bluetooth dongle to one of the USB ports on the PC or Laptop. Then open the Tazzle preference screen on your PC or Laptop to create a name for your Tazzle server. The figure below show an example of the preference And finally you create the connection between your Blackberry and PC by pairing your blackberry to the Tazzle server you created. Notice below my Tazzle server is paired to may Blackberry. Tazzle...ing Message – is easy. Simply open your mail client on the blackberry and select the message to send over to your PC. You can select to send the message as [Doc] or [Browser]. While Doc or Document will automatically launch the Microsoft Word application and display your message as a document, Browser will display your message using the default browser. You can use the [Tazzle Files] option to send files stored on your SD card or device internal memory similarly. Simply locate the file you want to Tazzle and select the Tazzle method to use. Overall Tazzle IT is a well thought out and easy to use package. The only improvements I would like to see is if the Tazzle Server can be stored on the USB dongle that is supplied in the Tazzle package so that Tazzle..ing from multiple PC is seamless and can be done from any PC without installation. I give the people at Tazzle IT two thumbs up for innovation and Tazzle a (9.5) on a scale of (1-10) for being user friendly with easy setup and most important EASY TO USE.

I'm interested to know if the Tazzle for email works with plain text messages as well as html messages as well as PDF documents.

Hi Panda,

The answer is YES. The Tazzle will send email content in plain text or HTML format directly to the PC, in .doc format to view, print, or save or to view with the PC's default browser. You can choose either way from your BlackBerry, with the additional menu options created by the Tazzle app.

PDF documents that have been saved on the BlackBerry (either onboard memory or SD card) can be Tazzled directly to view, print or save on the PC. You can send any downloaded attachment to be viewed or printed in any format that the PC supports.

I believe the answer to your question is "NO". The bluetooth module that comes in the Tazzle package is a special version that works with the Tazzle server software.

Hi!

No, you can't use the Tazzle software with a regular Bluetooth dongle, it requires the Tazzle IT device. There are several reasons: 1) the Tazzle IT dongle has the unique ability to actually "pair" to the BlackBerry by itself. This gives the Tazzle IT portable pairing that can be used by simply inserting it in ANY PC running the free companion sofware and begin Tazzling with no setup at all, and at the same time, leaves no pairing information on the PC.

2) the Tazzle IT uses no standard Bluetooth drivers, and has a hardware firewall that prevents pull access to the PC's data from the handheld, as well as pull from the PC to the handheld.

3) The Tazzle's method of data transfer is entirely different from standard bluetooth. The Tazzle IT creates a unique push system optimized for the BlackBerry smartphone. Files that are tazzled to the PC with the Tazzle IT inserted automatically open up in whatever file format is supported, when sent to view. Or, they go directly to the printer when sent to print. Files sent from the BlackBerry to save on the PC are automatically saved with the same file name on the PC in a pre-selected location, without requiring any further clicks or instructions on the PC side.
